I’m glad I got to play Chrono Trigger without needing a CD Key
Remember when needing a darned CD Key just to play a game wasn’t a thing? Yeah, call me old school, but I just yearn for the golden age of J-RPG’s, at a time when CD Keys weren’t a thing. Back then, the gaming industry wasn’t as huge as it is the billion-dollar industry that it exists today, so it wasn’t as over-saturated and over-privatized. Piracy wasn’t as rampant, and CD Keys weren’t rolled out yet. I would love to go back to such a time, where gaming was just gaming – pure, innocent and unadulterated. Uncorrupted by business practices trying to cater to as big a market audience as possible, and thus screwing up the quality of the game in the process.
I couldn’t imagine inputting a CD Key just to play my Chrono Trigger
Man, I love that game. I could play it over and over again without getting sick of it. I love how I don’t have any unpleasant memories of inputting a CD Key just to activate that masterpiece of a game. Take note, I wasn’t able to play that game in its original platform – the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System), or “Super Famicom” in Japan. I was only able to play it on an SNES emulator on my PC. Nevertheless, both platforms never required any of us to input a CD Key just to experience that wonderful adventure that is Chrono Trigger.
If a new remake of Chrono Trigger with a CD Key came out, I wouldn’t play it
Many fans have been clamoring for a 3D remake of Chrono Trigger, and yet, it hasn’t come around. A handful of fan-made 3D remakes however have surfaced, only to be shot down by Square Enix with a cease-and-desist order. If Square Enix ever gets their shit together and finally decides to make a new 3D remake of Chrono Trigger, complete with updated HD graphics and a CD Key to boot, heck… I wouldn’t play it just because of my dislike of CD Keys.
Just kidding. I love Chrono Trigger so much and I would be the first in line. Never mind that I have to pay for the CD Key.
